Parents and citizens' association

One of the great strengths of our school community is the relationship between home and school. Parents and citizens' association (P&C) meetings are held on the second Monday of each month during school terms. Meetings begin at 7:30pm and are held in the staffroom.

Parent, caregiver and community input for the support of our students in this school is welcomed and valued. Please feel free to attend meetings as your commitments allow.

The P&C is a friendly, cohesive and collegial group. We invite you to join us and listen to our constructive discussions and provide your input. Membership is not compulsory for attendance. If, however, you would like to vote as part of the decision making processes membership is required. The cost of annual membership is $1.

The primary function of P&C is to help the school help our children. We love being involved. Our children love having us involved in school life. Our teachers love the support we provide in class, sport, special events and the fact that our fundraising takes student access to additional learning opportunities.

While it can be hard work organising events, the outcomes are extremely rewarding. It is a wonderful thing to be part of a team, to work with each other, with our children and teachers – developing friendships, knowing that what we do further enriches school life and success for children.

Long-term fundraising goals for our learning community

To support the school in an upgrade of the school grounds which includes the eco garden, vegetable beds, seating, play areas and equipment and purchase of iPads, notebooks and classroom designs to support 21st century learning.

Short term fundraising goals for our learning community

To support the school in the purchase of teaching and learning resources for key learning areas, such as reading books, mathematics, science and sports equipment and providing for student needs as part of the student welfare program.

Social events

The P&C encourages the community atmosphere at our school by organising events that are attended by not only the school community but also the wider community.

Previous events include:

  • movie nights
  • trivia nights
  • car boot sale
  • Fathers' Day breakfast
  • barn dance night
  • barbecues
  • school fete
  • spooky fun night.

Your invaluable support helps P&C in realising their goals which in turn helps in improving opportunities for children.
